This sounds trivial, and it is. But if you have a Visual Studio background and are trying out JetBrains Rider for the first time, this may not be apparent how to setup launching multiple projects in JetBrains Rider.
This entire week I’ve almost exclusively used Rider. I’ve used some of the early EAP’s, but not on an actual project.

One of the first roadblocks I hit was trying to figure out how to launch multiple projects from my solution.
Thankfully, it didn’t take me too long to figure out. However, I then had a colleague ask me the very next day how to do it, as he was also trying it out for the first time.
Run Configurations
Under the Run > Edit Configurations...
menu, brings up a dialog where you can manage different configurations. Under the .NET Projects, you will have one default entry that points to an existing project. Create any new .NET Project entries to any other executable projects you have in your solution.
Compound
- In the video I show you how to merge or combine 2 Ableton projects. You can copy over an entire project or just copy and paste some elements from your Ableto.
- During the course of an editing session, you might open multiple projects and switch between them using the arrow buttons at the top of the timeline. Or you might navigate compound clip levels using the arrow buttons. You can close all projects in the timeline history other than the currently visible one. In Final Cut Pro, do one of the following.
- To completely remove the software, follow our recommended uninstallation steps for Windows or Mac. If I upgrade from Lite/Intro to Standard/Suite do I need to install again? Yes, all Live editions have separate installers. If you have upgraded from Lite/Intro you can download the Standard/Suite installer from your account.
Next, to run multiple configurations together at once, create a Compound configuration and add your .NET Projects to it.
As I mentioned, it’s pretty trivial but maybe not obvious to someone not familiar with JetBrains IDE’s.
Once you've finished a project, whether it's one track, an EP or a full album, you should always make sure you will be able to access the files in the future. Not just within the next few months, but years down the road. Let's have a look at all the things to consider when creating backups. Opening Two Ableton Projects At Once Machines Using MIDI to sync the two laptops is very unreliable; even with Live 8, there is noticeable clock drift, and if we want to change the tempo, the laptops go out of sync and everything sounds terrible until the MIDI clock 'settles'.

Rider Review
I’m looking forward to the next couple weeks using Rider. I plan on giving a full review after I’ve given it is paces with real project work.
