- Traditionally bronze coins were made from an alloy of copper, tin and zinc. Since September 1992, however, 1p and 2p coins have been made from copper-plated steel. The change was made because of the increasing price in world markets of base and non-ferrous metals.
- English: The As (plural Asses) was a bronze, and later copper, coin used during the Roman Republic and Roman Empire, named after the homonymous weight unit (12 unciae = ounces), but not immune to weight depreciation.
- Mint produces national medals to commemorate significant historical events of the Nation, or to honor those persons whose superior deeds and achievements have enriched our history, or the world. When legislation permits, bronze duplicates (90% copper, 10% zinc), of congressional Gold Medals, are struck for sale to the public.
- The silver and bronze medals are both 2.75 inches in diameter. The offering does not designate the weight of the medal in troy ounces. Biden Inaugural Committee officials did not respond to Coin.
